Where bold ideas meet practical solutions to build stronger communities.

The Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference (RVP) is the only national event dedicated to tackling vacant, abandoned, and deteriorated properties and advancing community revitalization. Since 2007, RVP has brought together more than 1,000 leaders from local governments, nonprofits, land banks, philanthropy, real estate, and community organizations to share bold ideas and proven strategies.

At RVP 2026 in Pittsburgh, you will find hands-on workshops, neighborhood tours, and dozens of sessions covering every stage of the property revitalization cycle. More than a conference, RVP is a space to connect with peers, build new partnerships, and return home equipped with practical tools to strengthen your community.

Two Decades of Reclaiming Vacant Properties

It all began in Pittsburgh in 2007.

In 2026, the Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference marks nearly two decades as the nation’s leading gathering on transforming vacant spaces into vibrant places. Now returning to the city where it started, RVP 2026 is both a homecoming and a chance to reflect on how far the field has come—celebrating the progress communities have made, learning from Pittsburgh’s ongoing transformation, and paving the way for the next generation of revitalization leaders.
