Christina Carter-Grant
Associate Director, National Land Bank Network
Christina Carter-Grant is the Associate Director of the National Land Bank Network (NLBN) at the Center for Community Progress. A convener with a community-centered mindset, Carter-Grant drives the network’s mission to provide land bank leaders with the knowledge, relationships, and much-needed resources to tackle vacancy and abandonment.
Carter-Grant has over 10 years of experience in nonprofits, housing, and community development. Prior to joining the NLBN team, Carter-Grant served Community Progress as the Senior Program Officer for Leadership, Education, and Engagement; as Communications Officer; and as the Program Associate for National Technical Assistance. Carter-Grant’s background in communications, program design, and event management ties closely with her role in implementing and growing programming and events that unite and educate land bank leaders across the country. This includes trainings, networking events, technical assistance opportunities, and convenings such as the premier event for land banks, the National Land Bank Network Summit. Her recent work Community Progress includes The Resident’s Workbook for Dealing with Vacant Buildings and Lots, a how-to guide for residents who want to address problem properties in their neighborhoods.
Previously, as an analyst for Krambo Corporation, Carter-Grant assisted in mortgage securitization for Habitat for Humanity affiliates to help them secure funding for more affordable housing. She co-authored Blight on The Block: A Resident’s Guide to Reducing Blight and supported the development of a tool with the Michigan Suburbs Alliance to help drive more funding to communities.
Carter-Grant received her Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from Babson College, a Master of Urban Planning degree from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in American Culture from the University of Michigan. She is a proud native of Detroit, Michigan and resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.
