New Webinars Unlock the Black Middle Neighborhood Challenges and Opportunities
August 20, 2020
In the last twenty years, predominantly African-American ‘middle neighborhoods’ have endured the same challenges as other communities, but with different results. The historic injustices that were thought to be issues of the past show up in modern terms in both challenges and opportunities in the wake of today’s growing social justice movement.
To help leaders, residents, and policy makers, Community Progress has partnered with the Middle Neighborhoods Community of Practice to break down the histories, challenges, and opportunities of these unique communities. Sign up for these two sessions to explore:
- the history of the Black middle neighborhood in America’s legacy cities;
- how market and historic forces create challenges for these communities;
- the implications of unequal recovery on the wealth of Black households and city health; and
- strategies for creating equity and mining the opportunity for social justice in these neighborhoods.
