Charles Linton
Communications Officer
Charles Linton is the Communications Officer at the Center for Community Progress. A meticulous and data-oriented strategist, Linton leads email marketing and project management and assists with website, editorial, and social media branding and content.
Linton brings his background in arts marketing and dramaturgy to help serve Community Progress’ diverse audiences. During his time at the Actors Theatre of Louisville and Olney Theatre Center, he wrote materials for artists and audiences that covered subjects from 1930s German literature to haptic technology. He uses his experience communicating complex, nuanced topics to make Community Progress’ publications and resources clear and accessible.
His work at Community Progress has included leading a substantive CRM and email platform migration, implementing a project management system across programs, and developing newsletters and blogs that uplift the expansive and complex work happening at Community Progress and across the field to address vacant, abandoned, and deteriorated properties.
Linton holds bachelor’s degrees in English and Sociology from Johns Hopkins University. Outside of work, he enjoys running, game design, and helping his partner with her bookbinding business. He is based in Washington, DC.
