WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 11, 2020 — The Neighborhood Funders Group (NFG) has announced that CEO and President of the Center for Community Progress, Dr. Akilah Watkins- Butler,
will share on strategic partnership development at the
Health, Housing, Race, Equity and Power Funders Convening that will take place February 25-26, 2020, at the California Endowment in Oakland, California.
The two-day convening is a follow up to NFGs popular panel from the 2019 Grantmakers In Health’s national conference on
“Catalyzing a Movement for Health and Housing.”
“The vital connection between people and place is a powerful tool for creating sustainable healthy communities,” said Dr. Akilah Watkins-Butler, President and CEO of Center for Community Progress. “I am excited to share more about the innovative connections we are seeing between our work on the ground and the lives and health of residents in those communities.”
Dr. Watkins-Butler will join thought leaders who are driving health and equity solutions across the United States for the two-day convening. Event sessions will focus on how effective grantmaking can help address structural racism, actualize racial equity and meet community needs.
