Thamarrah Jones
Director, Conferences and Events
Thamarrah Jones is the Director of Conferences and Events at the Center for Community Progress. A relationship-centered convener, she creates learning opportunities to help residents and local leaders whose communities are harmed by widespread property vacancy find equitable solutions.
Jones has spent over a decade creating informative, inclusive, and high-impact initiatives. In her role at Community Progress, she executes the organization’s virtual and in-person convenings and learning experiences, including the Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference, VAD Academy, and the National Land Bank Network Summit.
An outspoken advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion practices, Jones is passionate about supporting communities in understanding unjust systems as they exist to help them imagine a new way forward. Her Podchaser-acknowledged podcast “As It Should Be” convened activists, educators, and authors to explore what it takes to design equitable communities for all. She previously worked for the digital strategy agency Threespot and the education company Pearson.
Jones earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Florida Atlantic University. She is based in Asheville, North Carolina.
