The City of Chester Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) Plan provides a framework to manage stormwater with methods that contribute to safe, attractive, and more resilient neighborhoods and complements the City’s Climate Adaptation Plan.
The GSI Plan provides a framework for actions to expand the use of GSI to enhance stormwater management, reduce volume and flooding, protect water quality, and continue building a vibrant and resilient Chester, Pennsylvania. It assists city officials, decision-makers, community groups, and residents of Chester to manage excess rainwater.
Chester has numerous vacant (structure-free) properties, many of which are under public control, which offer excellent opportunities for building GSI projects. This plan highlights the opportunities present by these properties and is an example of using vacant land to address stormwater challenges in a thoughtful, intentional way.
