WASHINGTON, D.C. – For Valentine’s Day, the #LoveThatLot campaign is encouraging people to engage in “Public Displays of Affection” for outstanding vacant property revitalization projects.
The Center for Community Progress, the national nonprofit behind the campaign, recommends that interested participants:
- Use the #LoveThatLot hashtag to share photos of revitalization projects on social media
- Download an e-Valentine (view image) or print off the paper version (view PDF) to send to local revitalization champions
- Host an in-person celebration to recognize and tour a revitalized building or lot
“Every community has champions who are transforming vacant lots into amazing local gems,” said Tamar Shapiro, president and CEO of the Center for Community Progress. “Too often, these projects fly beneath the radar unless you’re lucky enough to live nearby. #LoveThatLot is about giving grassroots revitalization efforts the recognition they deserve.”
