Katherine Garvey

Katherine “Kat” Garvey is the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Center for Community Progress. Garvey directs the Land Use and Sustainable Development Law Clinic at the West Virginia University of Law. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and LLM from Vermont Law.

Garvey began her career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region VII. She then worked as an Assistant Professor of Law and Staff Attorney at the Land Use Clinic at Vermont Law School from 2008-2012. Since then, she has directed the Land Use Clinic supporting local government and nonprofit clients with real estate and land use law issues.
