For anyone who knows Alan Mallach, senior fellow at Community Progress, it shouldn’t be a shock that he’s being honored as a “visionary leader in community development.” He has dedicated his life’s work to helping communities across the country develop creative, equitable community revitalization strategies.

NeighborWorks America chose Alan as one of their 2014 “visionary leaders in community development” at NeighborWorks America’s Northeast Regional Reception earlier this month. Alan received the award alongside William R. Frey, senior director of preservation at Enterprise Community Partners.

NeighborWorks said Alan is a “powerful thinker in understanding the complex dynamics of community change and is a driving force in the effective utilization of data to inform policy and strategy. His counsel is sought by communities around the country and his influence is spreading internationally, but he always has the practical interests of communities and their residents in mind.”

We are proud that Alan is a part of the Community Progress team.
